How Char made her collage

1. Steps to processings photos: I open each photo in Paint Shop Pro, and resize to 640 length (whether they are scanned or digital) [By going to Image; resize and put the first number at 640] Then save as jpg. The first photo (Sled beside the door) I trimmed some outer edges first [This I did by going to tool bar; left click on Selection: (Then right click on selection open Tool Options changed to rectangle) then pulled it across the picture to where I wanted it. Then Edit: copy. Edit: Paste (as new image) Save and then resize save. (Anytime you save as new image or save with text or save in Microsoft you will get a message box that says: [Because of the limitations of the specified file format (and possibly the save options you've selected) the saved file will be limited to a merged image. Would you like to continue? Click: Yes.] (If you do not get this box you have not saved the image as a jpg.)

Then I went to Toolbar: clicked on Text: clicked on picture where I wanted a signature: (a textbox opens and you can do text, size and color and okay. (If the text isn't right or I don't like the color I go to Edit: undo, then click on the picture again and start all over) When it's to my liking I save. And close that down.

2. Then I opened each picture in Microsoft Photodraw and went to Format; Outline; Artistic brushes; (for this I used the Charcoal) Changed the color to white (down at the color chart)and kept readjusting the points until I liked the edge. After it's finished you have to save again and designate as jpg or it will save as Microsoft. You don't have to keep a Micosoft copy.

3. When all the pictures were edged I opened Paint went to Image; attribute: set up a page at 8 X 10 (David you can show where to go for this process) I do mine a little differently. If I want a color in the background I sellect the color and paint can an dump it in. Then save as whatever name I want and bmp. Leaving paint up I reopen PSP.

Then I open each picture in Paints Shop Pro and resize to 320 length, (or however I like the look) If I rechange a size I always undo resize before I resize again.

When I have the size right I go to edit: copy; then minimize PSP and paste the picture in paint, readjusting it until I get it where I want it. After I get the pictures positioned where I want them, I save it. After they're all in I save it and open the bitmap it in PSP. Here I go to Toolbar: Selection: (right click to put on rectangle) Then pull the selection across the whole thing triming to where I have even edges and an even top and bottom. Then I go to Edit: copy: Edit paste: as new image. Save (to whatever I want to call it) and make it a jpg.

Here I usually close it and reopen it to make sure everything is exactly how I want it. Then I go to Toolbar: Click on text: click on the college where I want the writing to go. And sometimes I have to readjust it several times. That's it. Hope this helps.
