The Hollies - Concert Review
Hayes, Beck Theatre, 4th February 2004 - by Sue Carne When I saw the Hollies at the Beck Theatre I felt as if I was 15 again.
I can't believe they have been going for 41 years. I loved them in the beginning and still love their music today.
I first saw them "Live" at the Beck in 1997 when Allan Clarke was still with them. I saw them again in 2003 and I was sorry not to see Allan but Carl Wayne proved he was a good replacement for Allan. I was singing along to every record as were all the audience.
This years' concert was just as good. The Hollies unique sound and harmonizing is as good as it ever was and we also get a few other 60's songs from The Move and Mud. As for Tony Hicks, his guitar playing is quite incredible during his solo parts.
The rest of the band are outstanding as well. Just one question - Why does Tony Hicks still look exactly the same as he did 41 years ago.
If you get the chance, go and see The Hollies and you will not be disappointed.
